5th Mahamevnawa Branch Opened in the UK

On the 29th of August, the Nikini Full Moon Day, the 5th Mahamevnaawa International Meditation Centre Branch in the UK was opened in Warrington, Cheshire.

Warrington stands on the banks of the river Mersey, 18.5 miles (29.8 km) miles east of Liverpool, and 16 miles (26 km) west of Manchester.

This branch was set up under the guidance of the founder of the Mahamevnawa Buddhist Monastery in Sri Lanka Ven. Kiribathgoda Gnanananda Thera.

The opening ceremony was commerated with day long religious programmes. The day began with the Buddha Puja and Buddha Vandanaa and offering of Dhana to the Maha Sangha. Many devotees living in the area attended the programme.

A Siri Gauthama Bodhi Puja and Chanting of Pariththa was also held in the evening. Pirith Pan and Pirith Nul were offered for blessings and to receive protection to every one who attended the programme.
